Three of our courses opened
in 2000. One is
Hawk Pointe
Golf Club, a residential golf course community in New Jersey that will
include a golf school organized by longtime Baltustrol golf pro, Bob Ross.
Hawk Pointe opened Memorial Day 2000.
HideOut Golf
Club, in Naples, Florida, a private 18-hole golf
course opened January 14, 2000. The 200 private memberships available were sold prior to
opening. The third course is
a nine-hole addition to Calverton Links near Calverton, Long Island. Calverton opened Spring 2000.
A private course, Laurel
Links Country Club, a residential golf course community, on the North Fork
of Long Island, will start construction on March 29,2001.
A public course near Reading, Pennsylvania, Old Wales Golf Club, is
in the final stages of arranging funding.
It is expected construction will start by Summer 2001.
Also
during 2000, Kelly Blake Moran Golf Course Architects, Inc. successfully
designed two new greens for Overbrook Golf Club in Villanova,
Pennsylvania. The greens for
holes #15, and #18 will be ready for play in Spring 2001.
Renovation work continues on Deal Golf and Country Club in Deal,
New Jersey. The work is based
upon the master plan of improvements developed by the firm for the private
18-hole golf club. The course
will be reopened for play by Memorial Day 2001.
